Tesla released two new recalls on Thursday to address seat belt problems in some type 3 and type Y vehicles with 7696 vehicles in the United States. The first recall involved 5530 model 3 vehicles from 2018 to 2020 and model y vehicles from 2019 to 2021. The recall is due to the fact that the fasteners (including the seat section) that secure the front seat belt to the B-pillar may not be connected correctly.
The second recall involved 2166 Y-type vehicles from 2019 to 2021 because the fasteners fixing the right and left seat belt retractors may not be properly connected.
Both announcements are posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
